The idea for this site came back in 1998, when the creator began searching for information on the Web. He was frustrated by the lack of quantity of quality contents, as well as the amount of time he had to spend navigating through different sites and closing pop-ups ads. He thought it would be really useful if there was a site that has all the resources he was looking. So, he decided to create a site that function like a shopping mall with a little bit of everything. Equipped with knowledge, determination, passion and hard work, Ex-designz.net was born. During the first three years of operation, the site was hosted in a free web hosting service provided by Road Runner and Homestead.com, and it was given a name of Extreme Design. At that time we are the only site that offers quality karaoke. This is also the time we started to build our user base.
Objective
Ex-designz objective is to build a fun, friendly, entertaining, interactive, informational Web portal, and global community that connects people from all walks of life's. It provides a source of inspirational and personalized content for the next generation of web surfers, and to help them realize that World Wide Web is more than just a place they can visit and get information; It's a place where they can interact, have some fun, chat,learn and share information to other fellow netizens all for the common good of everyone. What sets us apart from the rest is our ability to offer a wide variety of unique topics in one convenient place with no annoyance such as pop-ups and spyware. We care our users and want them to enjoy their time in our website.
Milestones
As Ex-designz celebrated its 5th year anniversary in January 2004, Ex-designz went through a complete overhaul of the site design, information architecture, back-end, database design and content which greatly improved its overall appearance, performance and services. Ex-designz was given a new look that is more appealing and features for the next generations of Web surfers. The rapid growth of Ex-designz creates many problems in our VPS server such as insufficient bandwidth and memory. The decision was made to move Ex-designz into two dedicated servers, one web server and a MS SQL 2005 server. Since the moved to the new servers in August 2006, the site traffic had increased tremendously. Ex-designz is now getting a little over 5 million pages view a month and 17,000-20,000 unique visitors a day. In order to stay competitive, we regularly monitor and analyze our Web logs to better understand our user's behavior so we can serve them better contents in the future.
Founder and Creator
Dexter Zafra is the sole creator and founder of Ex-designz and Myasp-net.com. He does all behind the scenes stuff such as the front-end design, the back-end coding, the database design, the database maintenance, the server administration, the SEO and the online marketing. He resides in the beautiful city of
Norwalk in Los Angeles County. He is a

Designer, Information Architect and Web Administrator. He is the author/programmer of (XD Link Directory & World Recipe Portal) a well known ASP.NET applications. He has been involved in Visual Basic Application development, Database design, Windows 2000 Server Administration and Networking (MSCE), PC troubleshooting and ASP/ASP.NET Web Application development. For the past eight years he set aside some of his acquired IT skills to specialize on ASP classic and ASP.NET VB/C# Web application development, and Systems Analysis and Design.
